SK Eco Plant continues its win-win approach by discovering innovative technologies in the environment, energy, and smart construction fields.
SK Eco Plant announced that it held the award ceremony for the open technology contest '2023 ConTech Meet-Up Day' at the Grand Walkerhill Hotel in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul on the 15th.
'ConTech Meetup Day' is an open technology contest that SK Eco Plant has been running since 2020 to discover domestic small and medium-sized businesses and startups with innovative technologies and ideas and support research and development.
This contest, which marks its 4th anniversary this year, was organized by SK Eco Plant, the Research and Development Special Zone Promotion Foundation under the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Chungnam Regional Small and Medium Venture Business Administration, the Korea International Trade Association, the Korea Agricultural Technology Promotion Agency, Hoseo University, the Chungnam Creative Economy Innovation Center, and It was co-hosted by public institutions, universities, and investment institutions such as Daejeon Creative Economy Innovation Center and Enlight Ventures. Starting this year, SK Eco Plant's environment and energy subsidiaries, including SK Ocean Plant and Environmental Facility Management Co., Ltd., will also participate in joint research and development.
SK Eco Plant has been conducting a contest since last September and received a total of 120 technologies in the environment, energy, and smart construction fields. After document screening and presentations, 5 companies, including 2 environmental companies, 1 energy company, and 2 smart construction companies, were finally selected as award winners. The evaluation comprehensively considered the innovation, business feasibility, and possibility of joint development of the submitted technology.
At this awards ceremony, the environmental sector ▲BLUELABS (eco-friendly water treatment production technology using fisheries by-products) ▲First Lab (water treatment and sludge reduction technology using focused ultrasonic technology) and the energy sector ▲The EN (hydrogen explosive removal and electrode manufacturing for water electrolysis) Five companies received awards, including ▲TJ Labs (location recognition solution using the Internet of Things) and ▲Energy Works (zero energy building total solution based on artificial intelligence) in the smart construction field. In particular, TJ Labs was selected as the best company and received a commendation from the Minister of SMEs and Startups.
Winners of the contest will receive benefits such as conducting joint research and development with SK Eco Plant and its subsidiaries, SK Ocean Plant and Environmental Facility Management Co., Ltd., and applying them to business after reviewing the feasibility of commercialization. It is also possible to receive support from government support funds and investment attraction from public institutions and investment institutions participating in the joint event.
