BLUELABS Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeong Sang-ho) announced on the 2nd that it had donated 2 million won to the Tongyeong City Talent Development Fund.
This is the second donation process following last year's donation to the Talent Development Fund. The deposit was raised through startup merit awards and sales funds.
BLUELABS Co., Ltd., located in Gwangdo-myeon, Tongyeong-si, successfully commercialized the water filter 'Oyster Puri' as a result of continuous research and development since 2022 to solve the problem of oyster shell disposal, a long-standing major issue in the region.
In particular, CEO Jeong Sang-ho, who runs BLUELABS Co., Ltd., has a history of participating in Bridge To The World, a representative sustainable development education expansion program operated by Tongyeong City's talent development fund, during his school days.
CEO Jeong Sang-ho said, “Twelve years ago, in the small city of Tongyeong, I gradually gained a larger and broader perspective on the world through the Bridge to the World program. At the time, I had a vague wish that if I became a member of society someday, I would give back by doing anything helpful to the local community, no matter how big or small. I am proud that I was able to realize my childhood wish through a startup. We will continue to pay attention to ensure continuous donation activities while advancing the growth of our original business,” .
Meanwhile, BLUELABS Co., Ltd. was recently selected for 'Contech Meetup Day', an open innovation technology contest held by SK Eco Plant, and was recognized as an innovative technology in the environment and energy fields. Together with SK Eco Plant, it is utilizing marine waste resources, mainly oyster shells. A joint research system is planned to be established within the year.
